How to Pray : day 2

Have you ever prayed out loud in front of other people? It can be tough at times to know what to say when speaking with God.

Prayer means truthfully talking and listening to God. It doesn’t have to be complicated. You don’t have to show off with big words. What’s most important is that when you talk to God, you speak to Him from your heart. Be honest and open; get to know Him like you would when you’re talking to a best friend.

The more you pray and speak to God, the closer you’ll become to Him. And when you become closer to Him, you’ll know His love and know God better.

Questions: How do you usually pray to God? What do you usually talk to Him about?

7 And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words.
8 Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.
9 “This, then, is how you should pray:“‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name,
10 your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
11 Give us today our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.’
14 For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.
15 But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.  - Matthew 6:7-15 (NIV)

26 In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.  - Romans 8:26 (NIV)
