Playin cbg p2

This is an old post. Aparently it was notes taken from someone  I had met on facebook at the time as with the previous post about cigar box guitars.

Playing Cigar Box Guitar - Part 2
I find GDG /151 tuning good for single note work, double stops, walking bass lines, shuffle rhythms, alternating bass, and bottleneck slide. It leads to an early rural country blues Delta tone. Although you can certainly strum chords, the string intervals of this tuning are not the best for creating a consistent Moveable Chord Method.
Using GDG, I can easily retune to ADF#. Not only changing the string intervals, but the key too. From G to D. This tuning creates an opportunity to play chords very similar to the method used on a standard 6 string guitar. Here is one example of how I utilize it: http://youtu.be/DAlIUpR12LY

Playing cbg p1

Something that should have gotten posted years ago but didn't....

Playing Cigar Box Guitar - Part 1

Most folk, blues, gospel, and rock & roll songs are played in the common keys of C A G E D. They are all relative to each other. Each has a Major Scale that contains 8 notes (octave) A popular approach is to tune to the key of G. 1-G 2-A 3-B 4-C 5-D 6-E 7-F# 8-G

Here are 4 suggested tunings:

GDG / DGB / GDGB / DGBD

Here is an example of GDG tuning. Notice notes 151 from the G Major Scale are used to create this tuning. Use string strings: A (.045) D (.035) G (.026)

All aboard!!!

So been out doing the dishes, yes I do the dishes outside.

Anyways, when I’m doing the dishes I tend to listen to music, today I was listening to some Ozzy Osbourne. “Crazy Train”, it says it all about what we are living in today.

"Crazy, but that’s how it goes
Millions of people living as foes
Maybe it’s not too late
To learn how to love
And forget how to hate

Mental wounds not healing
Life’s a bitter shame
I’m going off the rails on a crazy train
I’m going off the rails on a crazy train

Let’s go

I’ve listened to preachers
I’ve listened to fools
I’ve watched all the dropouts
Who make their own rules
One person conditioned to rule and control
The media sells it and you live the role

Mental wounds still screaming
Driving me insane
I’m going off the rails on a crazy train
I’m going off the rails on a crazy train

I know that things are going wrong for me
You gotta listen to my words, yeah, yeah

Heirs of a cold war
That’s what we’ve become
Inheriting troubles, I’m mentally numb
Crazy, I just cannot bear
I’m living with something that just isn’t fair

Mental wounds not healing
Who and what’s to blame
I’m going off the rails on a crazy train
I’m going off the rails on a crazy train"

What I mean by “it says it all about today” is, that just by watching the news for a few moments any day of the week, we hear or see how people are attacking, rioting, killing, and hating on each other on a regular basis.

We really do need to learn to get along and quit being violent towards each other on this little marble of a world we live on. It’s gonna get real hard for all of us if we don’t.

A diffrent kind of easy bake oven

Over the years, I have baked things outside on the grill using portable oven and even though it is fairly small it works great for making biscuits or a small pizza. I remember once several years ago when we had the one tiny house, we had an outside kitchen that I had built. We went through several stoves until I had bought one I found in the local news paper ads. The oven didnt work on it and our son wanted pizza. We couldnt make a pizza until we had a working oven and this one did the trick.

You may want to purchase a separate oven thermometer because sometimes the one that is built-in can get to where it doesnt work over the years, plus it will give you a better reading from inside the oven. Temperatures can vary depending on your fire, rather it is under it or if you put briquets in a pie plate and set inside it as I have also done before.

Once you get using this type of oven and you learn how to keep the heat at the temperature that you want, you shouldnt have any problems and will only be limited to the 10″ size of the oven.

things I know best

I know a bit about a lot of things but there are a few things I know quite a bit about. Fishing, camping, simple get arounds for daily things (aka life hacks), and basic old school business (the new type I cant exactly wrap my head around that well). So my guess is just that I need to take you on a journey of things I do know as I try and wrap my head around things. My mind likes to be scattered at times because thats just how it works I guess. So let us begin again.
I am Brad, but I am known by many other names. Whysprs was one that I started using many years ago back when I was in college due to I had a tendency to get into trouble whispering to the student that was next to me when he would ask me a question about things being said. So after a while I transliterated it from whispers to whysprs. It became my screen name across the college so that the other students in my tech classes would know that it was me since most of them only called me whispers due to the interruptions of the instructor calling me out.
Now you know the story of the name so lets move on.
Since I was a kid, I always yad an interest in camping, fishing, hunting and living off the land. That being said I incorporated a lot of it together and anything I could learn from about it, I would consume the information, use what is useful and works and then discard that which didnt work.
To be contiuned....
